With a special interest in stress management for people with cancer, I teach yoga and relaxation therapy, one-to-one and in groups and give adapted complementary therapy treatments to people undergoing active treatment for all cancers. I currently teach relaxation techniques at the Friends of the Beatson Centre based within the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow.
I also have qualifications in in Psychology and Stress Management as well as Yoga and Massage and a professional background in Group Facilitation in private industry and healthcare. Previously Breast Cancer Care’s Health & Wellbeing Manager, I was involved in giving health & lifestyle advice, information and practical support to people diagnosed with breast cancer. During this time I was privileged to receive training in cancer rehabilitation exercise with Dr. Anna Campbell, leading cancer rehabilitation specialist and director of Canrehab, an exercise based cancer rehabilitation consultancy.
With the emphasis on breathing techniques and relaxation, I offer people living with cancer the opportunity to learn skills which will help them to relax, to cope with a diagnosis or the effects of treatment or to establish a more restful sleep pattern.
