Kids yoga is fun! Yoga is an ancient science and philosophy that promotes healthy bodies and sound minds. plaYoga brings yoga’s holistic approach to classes that are tailored according to age group with fun, dynamic movements, combined with stillness and silence using stories, songs and games, breathing and relaxation practices.

Adult hatha yoga classes are flowing, meditative and embrace a sense of humour and fun whilst aiming to develop greater awareness of the body and mind and synchronisation of movement with breath.

To begin with you will practice an ‘arrive and centre’ exercise to help still the mind and induce relaxation. You will then work through a number or limbering exercises to warm the body and prepare the joints for a flowing series of postures (asana) known as ‘the sun salutation’.

This is followed by a variety of postures that are tailored to level of experience including balancing, standing, seated, inverted and twisting postures that move the spine through six different directions.

Finally, the session will end with a short relaxation and positive visualisation to allow the body to assimilate the practice.

Intermediate classes also available.
