Shorinji Kempo is a Japanese Martial Art with Chinese roots.
Shorinji Kempo includes effective self-defence, philosophy, meditation and acupressure massage. Students learn to defend with both "hard" and "soft" techniques, making the system well rounded and very effective.
Shorinji Kempo techniques are skilful and do not rely on brute force, making it suitable for men and women of all ages, sizes and fitness levels. By exploiting an opponent's balance and using specific pressure points Shorinji Kempo allows an adversary to be subdued without causing serious or unnecessary injury. The principles are applied to punches, strikes, kicks, blocks, throws and pins to defend against many different types of attack, both unarmed and armed.
The diverse aspects of Shorinji Kempo combine to give a uniquely balanced martial art, one which does not just teach self-defence, but keeps you fit and also gives you the confidence to stand up for yourself, others and what you believe in.
