Tune~link Devon is an organisation that aims to promote Irish & Scottish traditional dance music. Led by fiddler Griselda Sanderson from Clackmannanshire in central Scotland and flute player Deirdre Harnedy from Ireland, workshops enable enthusiasts to learn new tunes at their own pace in a friendly communal setting. It allows musicians the opportunity to work together in an encouraging workshop-style environment that is paced at a level where all participants can keep up and enjoy the thrills of group playing.
Griselda and Deirdre are both experienced traditional musicians with experience in traditional music education for young people and adults as well as performance. Griselda has a PhD in traditional music transmission, and Deirdre an MA (Ethnomusicology) from Cork University.
Tune~link Devon supports a community of music enthusiasts working within the oral tradition who cross over from Irish, Scottish, and English styles. The aim is to raise the standard, provide a continuity of the oral tradition and to allow local sessions and the music scene in general to flourish.
