THE STORY SO FAR

It all started with one of those long conversations between friends. The Free University in 1960s Palo Alto. Ivan Illich's ideas for decentralised 'webs of learning networks'. Our own ideas on the future of teaching and learning. The internet. And suddenly it all came together, and School of Everything was born.

Since then, we've developed the idea with the support of the Young Foundation's Launchpad programme (they also lent us some office space, which we're still using). Then, in September 2007, with a prototoype barely finished, we were chosen as one of the 20 hottest early stage start-ups in Europe by Seedcamp.

Right now, we're working hard on a new and improved 'beta' version of the site, and figuring out how to sneak in more ideas for School of Everything features without driving our tech team insane.
