My poems have appeared in Mslexia, The Interpreter’s House, Smtih’s Knoll, Poetry Review, and Reactions 2 and 3 and many other publications and I have been successful in competitions, most recently as a prizewinner in the New Writer poetry awards, 2006. My new collection, Blue, is published by Flarestack. My story "Maxwell Demon and the Butterfly's Wing" appears in Shazkaz and Other Stories, which is widely read in schools. For a number of years I was an English teacher until Teachers as Poets sessions run by Birmingham LEA and led by David Hart turned me into a writer.

I have organized and run poetry evenings at a State College in Florida and at a local cafe in Jacksonville.

I have also performed in the premiere of Handmaiden, a play by Jennifer Chase, taking one of the lead roles.

I encouraged students of all ages to write and perform their own work. I also encourage students to 'walk off the stage' and be adventurous in their presentation.

I have recently (October 2011) returned from Florida and anticipate being based in the UK for the next 12 months.
