Hi, my name is Richard Shaw and I'm a freelance animator.

I hope to begin running children's animation workshops in schools and after school clubs, as well as one on one software tuition for young people and adults.

Animation workshops are suitable for children aged 5-11 and I can offer anything from stop motion to basic live action/CGI compositing. Projects can vary in length from a few hours to several months.

Tuition is only suitable for complete beginners. I'm mainly experienced with After Effects, but can also offer an introduction to Photoshop and 3ds Max.

I have a degree in animation and I have been using Flash for more than eight years. I have been using Photoshop and After Effects for a little less than that.

If you would like to learn some graphics/animation software cheaply I can help.
I have helped teach flash in workshops and schools so I have experience with ages from 8 to 50, any age welcome.
When I first started in flash I had no one to help so I'm mostly self taught. A lot of teenagers that use flash would really benefit from someone to help them understand the program and the art of animation.

I have great experience using a variety of design programs in particular the Adobe creative suite and am familiar with using both PC's and Applemacs. My learners vary from amateur photographers to graphic designers to hobbyists who just want to have a go at digital imaging. I try and encourage the creative side to blossom in my students and believe that everyone is capable of achieving a pleasing result and having fun with their images.
