Abby Clarke
From a very young my dream was to live in France, so after finishing my degree (History of Art with French subsidiary) I moved over there and spent a wonderful 6 years perfecting my French and immersing myself in the French way of life.
When I lived in France I had a fantastic time working in the tourism industry - mainly for hotels and campsites. In 2008, I moved back to the UK and I am now an online copywriter. In my spare time, I design websites, take photos, play the oboe and go on lovely long walks in the beautiful Surrey and Sussex countryside.
I have spent time assisting Modern Foreign Languages teachers in schools, both at secondary and primary level, which has really helped me understand the different and exciting ways in which students learn.
Whilst in France I taught French to local expats who were looking to either improve their business French, or simply wanted to learn a bit more of the language to help them get by.
I also recently undertook a postgraduate pre-teacher training course specialising in French at the University of Reading.
I love French! I want to share my passion for this fabulous language with others.
Everyone learns languages at different speeds and in different ways, so I tailor my teaching to accommodate this by being creative, flexible and understanding.
I would like the outcome of my sessions to be that you learn some really great French whilst having a fun, interesting and stress-free time along the way. No matter how old you are - from primary school children to great, great grandparents - French is such a beautiful language that everyone deserves a go at learning it!
