I am a singing teacher and voice coach based in central Edinburgh with extensive experience of all aspects of vocal and performance training and application spanning over many years.

I offer private vocal coaching in singing and public speaking. Aspects covered include breathing, posture, tone, tuning and healthy voice placement techniques for performance and studio work, plus attention to content and confidence building. In addition I can help with music theory and general musicianship. I teach most styles, including blues, jazz, musical theatre, pop, rock, folk and classical and my students range from absolute beginners to well known professional performers.

Tailored for each individual, my approach is friendly, informal and supportive and I have a high success rate preparing people for all sorts of situations: exams, auditions, work presentations and amateur or professional stage performance, as well as helping many who think they are tone deaf to sing in tune and still more who are afraid to sing or speak in public to overcome their fears. Of course some people just want to sing for a bit of fun - we can do that too.

Customised group workshops are also available. These can be held at your place of work, your college, your home or another venue of your choice, and may include other specialist tutors if required. Details and prices for these are negotiated in discussion with the client.

As a working performer, I practise what I teach and keep my skills updated on an ongoing basis. In the past year this has taken the form of teaching skills refresher sessions plus classes, workshops and private lessons with first class teachers who are each world leaders in their respective fields of jazz technique and interpretation, Speech Level Singing and Life Coaching.
