A London wide list of Mei Quan branches with full class and contact details is available by following either of the above links.

The Mei Quan Academy of Tai Chi, established 1990. We teach all aspects of Yang Style Tai Chi from beginners’ classes through to advanced.

Our distinctive teaching methodology and syllabus is based on tradition and on many years of experience. Our teachers pay close attention to students' progress as a class and individually, which is why we have such a good mix of students.

Classes are lively and tailored to the needs of the individuals within the group. The deeply rewarding ways of meditative health and Qi Gong are taught to students who attend for this well known aspect of Tai Chi while students who are interested in the highly enjoyable, dynamic and martial sides of Tai Chi are given the suitable exercises and instruction.

Classes usually have a 50/50 male/female mix of good-humoured students who come from all walks of life and around the world, and who often stay on for sociable tea breaks after classes.

Practitioners of dance, other martial arts and yoga often find that the internal, flowing qualities of Tai Chi complement their training.

Some of the exercises enjoyed by beginners in our school include the 8 Pieces of Brocade, the 24 Step Short Form, and Elementary Pushing Hands.

Examples of more advanced exercises include 28 Step Qi Gong, the Long Form, Advanced Pushing Hands, Muscle/Tendon Changing, San Shou, Zhan Zhuang, White Tiger Blue Dragon Sequences, Martial Applications, Staff, Sabre and Narrow Sword.

Interested students can choose to study any or all of the 5 aspects of Tai Chi: development of one’s health, meditation, martial art, spiritual self-development, and aspects of Chinese Medicine and traditional culture.
