Alex Jerman

Hi I'm Alex, here's a brief introduction giving you a bit of background and hopefully a reason why you might want to book a photography tuition session with me. I was inspired to take up photography as a hobby, when I travelled back in the 90's spending around a year in different South East Asian countries. I then studied on the City & Guilds Photography course for four years in traditional and digital photography and then attended various other courses and workshops before deciding to take up photography professionally at the end of 2005.I completed a years experience as a studio assistant at a community arts project based in Salford, in the photography department. Having a teaching background, as a tennis coach for 7 years before taking up photography full time. Camera Culture Manchester, a photography events group was set up in early 2007 as a fun alternative to the traditional camera club. As well as the group I run photography workshops, one to ones and courses for individuals and organisations. I also put on exhibitions of my own work on various themes. I really enjoy creating my own images and enabling more people at all levels to participate in photography.
