I tell stories!
Over the course of the years, first as an ESL/EAL teacher for adults, and then as a teacher in primary schools, I found story telling to be a great way of teaching, entertaining and sharing for adults and children alike - everyone loves a good story!
I have a large mental bank of old, traditional folk and fairy tales, stories from history, new stories, I am happy to make stories up (kids generally prefer this!), or learn more if something particular is required - a theme or a set of books.
A little down-time at the exhausting end of a children's party (where I will also paint faces as an extra!),Book Week in schools, fiction workshops, story corners in the children's section of the library, craft fairs - lots of places and events need a story-teller....!

Children learn better when they are told stories than when they are read stories. As a qualified and practising primary school teacher, I am up to date with current practice in the curriculum, and am fully registered and CRB checked.
