Head instructor at the Test Valley Aikido club in Andover, I've been practicing the martial art aikido since 1995 and was awarded Black Belt, 4th Dan in 2011. I also hold the British Aikido Board's Coach qualification and have been teaching since 2005.

I was initially attracted to aikido due to the no kicking and punching aspect, the fact I could learn to defend myself without running the risk of being clouted over the head in my first class was quite appealing. I've continued studying aikido because there is always something to improve, there is always another level to aim at in my own practice.

I aim to make studying aikido as fun and accessible to as many people as possible, while enabling them to make steady progress through the grades.

For those aware of the different styles of aikido, my training is in a Ki Aikido style, my own aikido education being initially in the Ki Federation.

Group Classes

Aikido class, Tuesday night - 1800 to 1930

This class, based at the Salto Gym, Charlton Road, Andover, is a warm and welcoming mixed ability class, with both male and female students.

Choose between coming along to watch, or wear something loose and comfortable and give it a go.

This class looks at beginners/basics, more advanced concepts are covered in the later class.
