Musical Instruments teacher
I teach in the comfort and security of the student's own home. My teaching style is based on many years of experience "on the road" as a gigging musician, during which time I have worked with bands covering almost every style of music. I like to make the lessons user-friendly, interactive (I play along as well- sometimes on a different instrument!) and, above all, FUN. In addition to conventional music-reading and theory, I also teach chord theory, tablature (for guitar or bass), and improvisation skills. I cover most contemporary styles, including pop, rock, jazz and blues. I have been teaching for about 17 years now. I teach a lot of tips and tricks which you pick up as a working musician on the road- the stuff you don't always get in the books! I am registered with the Registry of Guitar Tutors (RGT) and Musicians' Union.

Private Teaching
Andy Graham
Teaching on a one-to-one basis means that I can quickly identify any areas of weakness or those which need the most development (which is very difficult to do in a group session). I cannot stress enough how much quicker and more effective individual (one-to-one) lessons are against a classroom-type situation. This approach also makes it much easier for me to make the lessons FUN and interactive (I play along as well- sometimes on a different instrument!). It also means that things can be a lot more flexible and that I can adapt the lessons to suit personal musical interests and preferences. As well as music-reading and theory skills, I also teach chord theory, tablature (for guitar or bass), and improvisation skills. I teach a lot of tips and tricks which you learn "gigging on the road". This kind of information is rarely covered in conventional classroom music sessions, but can easily be communicated on a one-to-one basis.

THE SMALL PRINT
The length of the lesson depends on the location of the student and is, therefore, by arrangement (usually between half an hour and 45 mins). This is because, unlike most teachers, I travel to the student. There is a 24 hour notification policy for cancellations to avoid payment.
