Ben Mowat has played the violin since the age of 7. He specialises in writing and producing music for a variety of ensembles in a unique style, often incorporating string arrangements.
Alongside his musical projects, Ben has worked as a violin teacher, teaching assistant and music workshop leader in primary, secondary and special needs educational and play settings as well as adult tuition.
Since starting his BA in Popular and World Musics at Leeds University in 2003, Ben has greatly increased his skills in the development of compositional projects, the use of recording technology and software, playing violin and performing as well as gaining a wealth of knowledge of different musical styles and cultures.
He has gained extensive experience in project management, collaborating with other artists to organise programmes of live music, tours, recording projects, ensembles and choirs.
