Caroline Gale
I have taught music in schools and the piano at home for over 20 years - and I believe that learning an instrument should be enjoyable and personal for the student. The choice of music and method will depend on the age, ability and preferences of the learner.
Some students prefer a formal, classical approach to learning an instrument whilst others prefer a more relaxed, contemporary approach - I am happy to teach either way.
I believe that the relationship between student and teacher is very important, and good musical progress is dependant on a happy student/teacher relationship and a well-motivated student. A student cannot be forced to learn an instrument - it only works well if the desire to learn comes from the student themselves. An important part of my role, as the teacher, is to engender enthusiasm for the piano in my students.
My qualification are:
BA(Hons) Music, PGCE, MA (Music Education)
