I have been teaching yoga for 25 years. I teach in the tradition of T Krishnamacharya (who was Mr. Iyengar and Mr. Patabi Jois's teacher.) I am a qualified KHYF teacher and therapist also an BWY Advanced teacher. I teach 8 classes from Monday to Wednesday, all other times are for persons wishing to deepen their relationship with yoga beyond asana or wanting yoga therapy (using yoga as a means of healing/ alleviating conditions) such muscular/skeletal problems, ME, MS, anxiety, depression, phobias, and menapause.

I am also a qualified EFT and Matrix re-imprinting practitioner. This is known as energy medicine.( or acupuncture without needles)The meridians are used as a means of reducing emotional trauma.

I have built a yoga centre in Negombo Sri Lanka and offer yoga retreat holidays and tours of Sri Lanka.

FAQ

Am I too old to do yoga, I am not flexible, I am not strong can I do yoga

One is never too old, or ill to do yoga. If you can breathe, or use the mind you can do yoga.

You don't have to be flexible/strong to do yoga. The point of yoga is not to wrap your legs around your neck. The yoga sutras describe yoga as the 'settling of the mind into silence' it says nothing about flexibility or strength. In Hatha yoga, postures were developed as a gross means of learning to focus the mind and to make the body like a diamond- strong so we can meditate.

When yoga was developed society did not need another form of exercise (remember most people did physical work in the fields)The sages realised that we were in pain due to our mind's condition and the way we viewed the world, and this happened whether we were rich or poor, old or young. So yoga was given to us to help reduce our pain (duhkha) This was true thousands of years ago and is still true today. If we view the glass as half full we are happy, and if our view is the opposite we are unhappy
