David Croker
As a musician, David began lessons on Clarinet at the age of 7 and throughout his education joined many different ensembles both in and out of school, playing in ensembles ranging from jazz bands to orchestras and wind bands to woodwind quartets. David has experience in a wide range of styles including jazz, classical and contemporary and over the years have played almost the entire range of saxophones (sopranino to tenor) and clarinets (Eb to ContraBass).
At university, where David achieved his BA Honours Music Degree,he developed his musical skills through ensembles led by Charles Hine and Clarinet and Saxophone lessons with Jeffery Wilson. This also developed his knowledge of music for both his instruments playing works including James Rae’s Sonatina for Tenor Saxophone, Dave Heath’s Out of the Cool on Soprano Saxophone and Brian Chapple’s A Bit of a Blow for Clarinet.
David also has experience in session and pit band work playing various reed parts for productions including Oliver, Guys and Dolls, Annie, My Fair Lady and recently recorded part of the Middle Ground Theatre Company Tour 2010 of 'Columbo'
