Derrick Campbell

I teach at a few places: Music Maker Studios in Brighton, MA, Nobles and Greenough School in Dedham, MA, Newton Memorial-Spaulding Elementary in their afterschool program, and at the Boston Center for Adult Education. I've been teaching in the Boston area for eleven years now. Prior to that I taught at Guitar Attention Center in Springfield, OH.

I've been playing the guitar for twenty-six years, and teaching for eighteen. I've played in a variety of original and cover bands, and written a number of songs of my own. I'm working on recording these as instrumentals with my home studio, although "studio" is probably too generous a term. It's more like a tv cart with a bunch of recording equipment on it.

I'm available as a sub guitarist for original and cover bands. In the past year or two, I’ve done last minute sub gigs for Dick and Jane, Grumpy Jones, and Double Take – all top notch cover bands that play out 3-5 times a month.
