Trained to teach hooping with Hoopgirl in LA, in November 2006, and began teaching hoop classes in London in February 2007. Since then have trained to Level 3 with Hoopgirl and Level 2 with Bodyhoops. Also have a City & Guilds adult education PTTLS qualification and am an NLP and Hypnotherapy practitioner.
My exercise background is a mix of dance, martial arts, bodybuilding (weight-training), and fitness.
I have taught hoop classes for Redbridge Healthy Lifestyles Programme and Redbridge CVS, as well as Hertfordshire Adult and Family Learning Service. Have been CRB checked by both Herts and Redbridge.
I regularly teach hula hoop courses at City Lit in Covent Garden.
There are occasional drop-in classes on Wednesday evenings and the rest of the time I run courses aimed at those who want to build up hooping skills.
Always looking for new venues for classes and new ways to show people that exercise can be joyful, empowering and fun.

Hoopdance for Beginners - 1
I no longer offer a drop in Wednesday class, and instead am teaching a series of courses to provide tuition for beginners and, should there be sufficient demand, intermediate hoopers. The next six-week course is a Hoopdance for Beginners course and will start on Wednesday 14th September.
This course is suitable for complete beginners or those who have not hooped for a long time. The content is designed to build your skills week by week so that you can consolidate and ask lots of questions to ensure that you get the help you need. Everyone is different and I aim to give as much individual help as possible.
Please see my website - http://www.hoopswhirled.com for details of classes and booking.
Hula Hoop class
This hoop class is run as part of the Redbridge Healthy Lifestyles Programme. This is a drop-in, multi-level, low-impact class, which follows the format of the Hoopgirl Workout. You will learn different hoop moves, develop core strength, mobilise your spine and get a cardio workout while having fun. Hoops are provided.
Experience
Hoop teacher information
After taking my first hoop teacher training with Christabel Zamor in LA in November 2006, I began teaching in February 2007. After running several courses at one venue, I increases the number of classes and began teaching at other venues. I took the Hoopgirl Level 2 training in August 2008 and in February 2009 I travelled to San Francisco and experienced the inspirational Level 3 Hoopgirl teacher training.
As well as offering my own classes, I work with several local authorities as part of their Wider Family Learning and Healthy Lifestyles initiatives, using hooping to encourage people to become more active in a fun, enjoyable way.
On the first Sunday of each month, I run a "Hoop Club" as a community event in north London. There are also workshops and other events running through the year.
This means there is a wide range of hoop options to everyone from the novice hooper to the experienced hoopdancer who wants a challenge!
