I have a degree in textile design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and worked as a textile designer, both freelance and full time, as a CAD specialist and an embellishment specialist. Before that, I was a practicing textile craftsperson, demonstrating and selling at many craft fairs.
I also have a B.S. in chemistry and an Ph.D. in biochemistry. I have taught grad students and have tutored students in sciences and maths from 13 years up.
