I come from a performing background and studied dance, drama and fitness at SLP College, Leeds. My body had to be kept in peak physical condition to cope with the demands of the rigourous dance and fitness training. Very quickly I got stronger, leaner, more flexible and defined. All at the same time as doing something I loved! After leaving, in between various dancing jobs I started to teach. I wanted to show others what can be done when you set your mind to it and that it really can be fun!
I left college in 2001 and have been working both in the fitness industry and the performing industry since then as a Personal trainer, Actress, Dancer and Teacher. From my many years of working as a Personal Trainer, I got great satisfaction from helping people lose weight an seeing the incredible difference it made to their lives.
Experience showed me that there is a very common problem amongst people who have weight problems- the never ending cycle of yo yo dieting. I realised quickly that we needed to do more than just treat the symptoms of the weight problem; we needed to go deeper. All weight problems are psychological, and without getting to the root of the problem; long term results are rarely achieved. This is what inspired me to achieve my Psychotherapy diplomas.
