I studied at Birmingham Conservatoire obtaining a music degree with honours in 2001. Since then I have taught privately and for Birmingham Music Service, Dudley Performing Arts, Midlands Arts Centre, Repton Summer School and the Oxford Cello School (for whom I am the Head of the Junior Course).

I teach: cello - all levels (Beginner to Degree)
Double Bass - up to Grade 3
Non-Pedal Harp - up to Grade 2
Piano - up to Grade 2
Theory - up to Grade 6

I teach all ages (children & adults) but specialise in young starters aged 5-10 using the Colourstrings Method, based on Kodaly methods. This includes fun games, singing, composition, transposition and note writing.

I run a cello ensemble with a fellow cello teacher and put on twice yearly concerts to give our pupils a chance to perform solos, duets and ensemble pieces.

With all ages I like to use duets and improvisation, but I'm happy to tailor the sessions to suite the pupils interests.

I trained as an orchestral cellist, but have also worked in a duo performing for wedding in a qide variety of style and played in a folk-pop band. On the harp I perform mainly Medieval and Folk music but am happy to work towards exams.

Come and have some fun.
