Fern began singing at the age of 6. She joined a local singing group to gain some confidence and then attended classical training for just under a year.
When someone finally discovered Ferns' talent, she was sent to a Recording Studio to sing some popular music. Just under 6 months later, Fern's recordings were heard on the Radio and a local guitarist got in touch. Together they formed a Liverpool based band and performed in many prestigious venues such as The Cavern, The Matthew Street Festival and The Zanzibar, as well as winning various competitions on the way.
Being part of a group and singing in front of huge crowds from a very young age has gained Fern a lot of experience within the music industry and how to perform in front of different people.
As an established singer in Liverpool, Fern has also sung at corporate events for top leading dermatologist companies from the UK and France. Many restaurants and bars also prefer solo singers so Fern has learnt the different performance techniques to suit each situation.
From a young age, Fern was also part of a theatre group who performed regular shows. This meant Fern had to discover how to balance acting along with singing. She was trained of a long period of time how to do this and not long after, was recognised for her acting skills as well as singing.
For many years now, Fern has written songs for her band along with other artists and has been recognised for her skills in this area. Only last year, Fern was asked to judge South Liverpool's song writing competition and work with the winner on how to perform their winning song. Fern would be happy to do workshops with her clients to get them started with original songs.
The reason I do not wish to teach an advanced level singer is that I believe when a singer reaches the top of an intermediate level, they should begin to find their own way as a performer and build on their existing knowledge to find their own unique voice.
