Frederick Taylor
I began studying the violin aged three with Margaret Engering in London. Following an extremely inspirational lesson from Dr. Shin’ichi Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan, I went on to study with Hilary Sturt at the junior department of the Royal College of Music. Having received a first class MusB (Hons) degree from the University of Manchester, I have been awarded a scholarship to study violin at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance at postgraduate level.
I have enjoyed many solo opportunities over the past years, highlights including Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 at St John Smith’s Square, Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante with the University of Manchester Chamber Orchestra and a performance at the Purcell Room on London’s South Bank. I have studied with Clare Dixon of the BBC Philharmonic and have recently attended masterclasses by Pieter Schoeman and Alexander Zemtsov.
A keen orchestral musician, I have been leader of the Sinfonia d’Amici in London, and the University of Manchester Symphony, Sinfonietta and Chamber Orchestras. I have also played with many other ensembles including the Amadeus Orchestra, Manchester Consort and Shadwell Opera. I have performed in the major concert halls across England, and have toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe and China.
