Gillian Yates, singing tutor, performer and voice tutor and lecturer in performing arts studied singing in Milan with Dr Otto Muller, leading exponent of the Bel Canto technique and furthered her studies in Italy with his successor, Marilyn Turner, and in England with Janet Barratt. She has also trained with renowned Indian classical voice teacher, Professor Deepak Chatterjee. She has a 2:1 Honours degree in Italian and European Literature from the University of Warwick, an MA with Distinction in Performance (Music) from the University of Salford, a Licentiate in singing from the London College of Music and a Post compulsory Certificate of Education in teaching. Until August 2010, Gillian was Senior lecturer in Performing Arts at Chester University. She is currently Senior Lecturer in Drama and Voice at the University of Gloucestershire.
She is available for singing and voice tuition in the Gloucestershire area. Gillian specialises in helping people to express themselves confidently through song and speech and strongly believes that everyone can sing and improve their voice.
