Falling behind in certain areas of school work can be both a frustrating and daunting prospect, especially when that essay is due and the exams are impending. I am a big believer in confidence building as a means of tackling these kinds of periods of low self esteem. My patient and supportive approach to teaching allows my students to find that confidence in their work. I pride myself in my ability to breakdown the impossible into manageable, digestible pieces as well as encouraging students to find solutions for themselves, encouraging a sense of curiousity in their work. I want to be that person who helps an individual achieve what is in their minds, unobtainable. I begin by setting a 'mission'; a goal or aim - whether that is acheiving a certain grade or gaining a place at a specific establishment. With this in the forefront of the student's minds we can then begin our work together to achieve the individual's objectives - developing confidence, committment and curiousity along the way.
I have a BA (Hons) in English and Theatre Studies with French from the University of Warwick (class 2:1). Prior to this I achieved 4 A grades in A-level French, English Literature, Drama and Theatre Studies and Music. I have 10 A*-A grades at GCSE level (with high A*'s in English Literature, Language and Maths) as well as the AQA Advanced Extension Award in English in which I achieved a Merit. For music tuition I passed my Grade 8 Flute (ABRSM) with a high distinction and achieved distinction in all Music Theory examinations. I also hold a BA (hons) in Musical Theatre from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
