Do I need to read music to learn the sax?
It really helps and will make learning the instrument a lot quicker. If you've never studied music before don't panic!. Most of the beginners tutor books introduce music reading in a step by step fashion. Provided you are willing to put the work in with your practicing you'll be surprised how quickly your reading skills develop.
I want to buy, hire a saxophone what do I do?
Getting hold of a good instrument, wether you want to hire or purchase one can be a bit of a minefield to the novice player. There are some very poor instruments out there that will make learning and producing a good sound difficult. Fortunately you can get good quality student instrument for not a great deal of money these days. Please feel free to contact me for advice.
