I am an active member of Transition Glastonbury. In particular my focus has been helping to coordinate the 'Heart and Soul' group. As well as offering workshops in 'Deep Ecology' I have co-facilitated 'open circles' and organised a monthly programme of workshops in different aspects of transition- e.g conflict resolution/theatre for change/ etc.
I've worked as a psychotherapist for the last 19 years and I believe that whilst its very valuable, individual psychological work is not enough to meet the needs of this unique time.
I'm interested in many different aspects of eco-psychology. In particular - what motivates people to find a bigger sense of self (sometimes called 'the ecological self')- the self that lives the reality of inter-connectedness.
The 'Work that Re-Connects' is about giving ourselves time and space for the feelings we have about living in a world that is under threat. Its also about connecting with others and empowering each other to wake up and find our place in the 'Great Turning' the transition from where we are now to creating a sustainable world.
