Jay Matharu

Jay Matharu is a Guitarist, Musician and Teacher currently based in Uppsala Sweden. He has been playing guitar for 14 years and teaching for over 10 years.

In the years he has been playing and studying guitar he has found himself on stages all over the U.K. and Europe, performing covers and original music and has written, recorded and performed original music in a variety of different genres, bands and projects. Music he has written and played guitar on has appeared on many radio stations including, Total Rock, Kerrang Radio, and BBC Asian Network.

Some of the bands he has supported are “Theatre Des Vampires” and “Brutal Deluxe” and has shared the stage with members of “Violent Delight” and “Karmic Jera” in side project “Black Tie Event”. He has even hung up his guitar to tour throughout the U.K. with Breed 77 and Fear Factory as a crew member.

In 2005 he graduated from Guitar Institute (TVU) with a Degree in Popular Music Performance and completed a HND equivalent certificate at The Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in 2000.
He has also had the fortune of studying guitar with some amazing players including, Mattias IA Eklundh, Guthrie Govan, Pete Callard, Dave Kilminster, and not forgetting “Zav” his first guitar teacher.
