Jean Gillies provides one-to-one lessons in a safe and encouraging environment, where we will help you to explore and develop your voice.

Lessons are relaxed and informal, and they are conducted by fully qualified and experienced singing teachers.

All lessons are completely private and prices include training work for you to take home and practice with. The tracks that are supplied are done so for Teaching Purposes only, and are regulated by the MCPS. (Mechanical Copyright Protection Society.

Jean believes that a good strong vocal technique is very important to you as a student, and that you also understand and learn the science and dynamics of singing. Jean will also teach you about microphone technique as well as stage presentation.

Jean encourages students to understand and develop good vocal health not only through singing but also through good eating habits.

There is an art to singing, and Jean breaks this down into small and simple concepts. Learning each of these concepts takes some time to understand, implement and master.

Through professional singing lessons each singer starts to show their own individual styles etc. Your music prefernces are always taken in consideration but we do try to encourage students to learn music from all genres.

Jean offers lessons in Pop, Musical Theatre and Opera, and Examination Grades are available to everyone, but are not compulsorary. Levels are from Grade 1 through to Diploma.

My aim is to turn out the very best; giving each student the ability to get onto a stage or in a studio and shine with confidence, the right attitidue towards the industry, and most of all the best voice that they can possibly have.

Contacts with Recording Companies and Producers are available through Jean, as are regular showcases for agents etc.

The minimum starting age for vocal lessons is 6 years old, and after that anyone of any age can learn to sing; whether it be for fun or serious.

You can train to become a Professional Singer on the Cabaret Circuit or even try for the big life as a pop star! Whatever your vocal needs are, Melody Pop Tuition can provide all the necessary help that you need to get yourself started on the road to stardom and achieve your goals and dreams – whatever they are!
