Finding your Stories
Story-making comes easily and naturally to everyone – it’s how we process experience. We make decisions by imagining future stories and understand the past through the stories of memory. This series of workshops is an opportunity to notice and harness your story-making mind through fictional and autobiographical writing. You don’t need any special skills or experience - just a pen, some paper and a sense of adventure.
Finding your Voice
This course is an opportunity to have a go at different kinds of writing, including sessions on fiction, non-fiction and autobiography. No special skill or writing experience is required - just a notepad, a pen and a sense of adventure!
Writing in the House of Dreams
Dreaming starts in the womb before we are born and we return to dreaming every night throughout our lives. Everybody's dream world is unique, with its own story-patterns, landscapes and images, and it is the source of all our creativity.
In these sessions we will be establishing dream recall and exploring the dream world through creative writing.
No previous experience of either dreaming or writing is required.
Writing the Tarot
The tarot is an ancient symbols system. It is most commonly thought of as an oracle but in this course we will be drawing on tarot symbols to create dynamic characters and stories. No previous knowledge of either writing or the tarot is necessary - just an open mind and a spirit of adventure.
More Writing in the House of Dreams
These workshops are an opportunity to explore the mythic energies which power all dreams and creative writing. They will extend our experience of ourselves as dreamers and writers with sessions on the waking 'I', the dream 'I' and the mythic 'I.'
Inviting the Critic in
This series of workshops is about the art and craft of creative writing. We will stay grounded in the adventure and playfulness of first-stage writing but open the door and let the critic in. The sessions will include short story, memoir and poetry.
