Finding Your Voice - 6 adventures in writing

Writing springs from the unique personality and life experience of the writer. Everyone has an amazing wealth of resources to bring to it, yet many people either stick to one kind of writing or can’t get started at all. This course is a voyage of discovery. It includes sessions on writing from memory (autobiography), knowledge (non fiction) and imagination (fiction). No special skill is needed – just a notepad, a pen and a sense of adventure!

Opening to Dreams

Most writers are interested in dreams. We all dream every night but most of us are only aware of fleeting glimpses at the moment of waking and when we do remember a whole dream we don’t really know what to make of it. Over the six weeks of this course we will be establishing dream recall, developing dream skills and exploring ways of understanding dreams.

Finding your Stories

Story-making comes easily and naturally to everyone – it’s how we process experience. We make decisions by imagining future stories and understand the past through the stories of memory. This series of workshops is an opportunity to notice and harness your story-making mind through fictional and autobiographical writing. You don’t need any special skills or experience - just a pen, some paper and a sense of adventure.
