Rates: £14 half an hour; £25 an hour

I am a natural voice practitioner, and have attended numerous natural voice workshops and training sessions. I specialise in teaching adults to find their true, natural voice, helping them to overcome their inhibitions about singing. I also run a thriving community choir.

I teach acoustic guitar and folk singing too, having sung and played in numerous folk clubs during the 70's and 80'. I will work with beginners, and with more experienced players and singers who wish to extend their playing style and repertoire.

I also teach piano to all age groups, and can teach jazz styles to those with intermediate qualifications. If required, I can prepare students for ABRSM exams, and have a very good pass rate for students entered in the past.

I have a sympathetic and understanding approach, and have a valid CRB check. References are available if required.

Experience

Folk singing and guitar playing

Learned folk-style playing from going into folk clubs and singing during the late 60's and all the 70's. Joined Ian Campbell folk group during sessions in Leicester, and developed my finger-picking style by studying playing of Bert Jansch, Ralph McTell et al. Sang with a small folk band in the early 70's. Still sing and play at our local folk and acoustic sessions.

My natural voice singing is a natural progression from the way I have alway sung, and the Natural Voice Practictioners' style reflects the way I approach the teaching of singing.

Fees are payable half-termly in advance. Cancellations should be made the day before, otherwise lesson is forfeit, expect in case of genuine illness or accident. If I cancel the lesson, then that lesson will be credited to the student.
