I am a post-graduate with qualifications in Art History & Museum Studies, and I had spent many years working in the cultural heritage sector. I decided, however, to change career and to develop my skills as a French tutor/teacher. I have a genuine interest in helping others, and am very much enjoying being able to transfer my language skills. I consider that I have developed a friendly approach to teaching as I don’t overly focus on theory and make sure that the learning activities are interactive and fun.
I have mainly taught one-to-one tuition, but I also currently teach for Cactus Language School, Central Oxford (classes for adult groups - languagecoursesuk.co.uk), Le Petit Club Français, North Oxford (classes for children - petitcluboxford.org), Language Trainers (business-oriented classes - languagetrainers.co.uk) and remotely for TTS Aosta, Italy (Skype online tuition - ttsaosta.com).
Tailor-made and friendly, but vigorous!
I believe that every person learns differently, depending on one's interests and background and natural character, and I always ensure that I identify the right method to apply.
Three basic rules:
- I encourage students to get "out of their shell", i.e they speak and speak only en français bien sûr!
- I listen and try to correct mistakes in a constructive manner
- I make sure that the exercises (during tuition and when given as homework) are fun and not tedious!
