FAQ
Do I need to bring my own mat?
No, you may borrow a mat on arrival. However, I would encourage you to have their own mat, as it is your sacred space, your personal map to guide your practice, and there are many different types (material, thickness etc) depending on need and personal preference.
I currently sell mats for £10, mat bags for £10, or both together for £15. Alternatively mats are available from many high street and online retailers.

Private Teaching
Yoga Therapy
Yoga therapy is an holistic approach to treating physical and emotional ailments. The practice incorporates yoga’s ancient system of healing with modern medicine.
Yoga therapy tailors yoga practices according to the specific ailment and the physical and emotional needs of the individual. It can be practised in conjunction with medical treatments and in tandem with other complementary therapies.
Yoga therapy consists of a combination of:
Physical postures: Simple yoga postures gently stretch and strengthen muscles, improving mobility, flexibility, respiration, circulation, digestion and elimination. Moving into and holding these postures encourages removes energy blockages that canlead to ill-health and thus promote a general sense of well being.
Breathing techniques: Awareness of the breath is central to all forms of yoga and promotes calmness, focuses the mind, and relieves stress and mental fatigue. Yoga breathing exercises can be practiced anywhere and at any time.
Relaxation methods: Learning how to relax is a central element of yoga and yoga therapy. Relaxation is the body’s way of recharging and rejuvenating and helps to ease physical and mental tension. Techniques for proper relaxation encourage us to step back and look objectively at our habitual patterns of behaviour and help us to cope better with life challenges and situations that put our body and mind under strain.

Pregnancy Yoga (antenatal & postnatal)
Yoga postures, breathing exercises and meditation will keep you physically healthy, emotionally well-balanced during pregnancy, labour and birth and the post-natal recovery period. Practicing yoga will strengthen the bond between you and baby.
The physical benefits of yoga include improved strength, muscle tone, posture and balance; suppleness and flexibility in the entire musculo-skeletal system; the stimulation of glands which control hormone production; massaged internal organs, increased blood flow and improved circulation; excellent breath and mind control and improved sleep. The breathing exercises and meditation promote a general feeling of well being, calm and contentedness, along with a positive outlook on life.
Antenatal: If you have been practising yoga for some time, or are a regular exerciser with no history of miscarriage, it is in most cases safe to practice from the first trimester. However, if you have not practiced yoga before, do not exercise, or have a history of miscarriage, you should wait until the second trimester to begin practising yoga.
Postnatal: Please wait at least six weeks before commencing yoga practice, and do make sure you have your doctor's consent.
