I started playing recorder aged 5 and my love for music has always been with me. At 9 I switched to clarinet and 5 years later I picked up the saxophone and piano. I have grade 8 in clarinet and saxophone and have recently achieved my ALCM in Jazz performance. I studied music at Sheffield University where I specialised in performance, composition and improvisation. The folIowing year I trained as a secondary school music teacher and have been teaching music since 2001 both privately and in schools. I am familiar with various exam boards so I am qualified to help you through your school music exams as well as instrumental grades.
I love jazz and blues music and have played in various groups both here and in New Zealand. At the moment I play in a Funk band, jazz trio and a Sax quartet.
