I teach in the Bel Canto (classical, Italian) style but with practical methods for any style of music and any lifestyle--no matter how busy. I'm a performer and recording artist as well. I think it's very important to have this experience, when teaching others who plan to do the same, to inform them of what to expect and how to make the most of their skills and apply them to the performance and recording. I really enjoy what I do and make it so that my students enjoy what they are learning.
I welcome all students from beginner to advanced no matter if you're a pro or are just singing for fun. I tailor each lesson to suit the individual, as we all learn in different ways. I'll explain what you're learning and why we do it that way so my students are never in the dark and will be able to take responsibility for maintaining their own voices. Besides, it's much easier to learn something you understand rather than just doing what seems like a bunch of silly-sounding exercises, hoping they'll work;)
Students are required to bring a few songs they'd like to learn (in any genre: pop, rock. r&b, etc.) and the lyrics typed in large print and double-spaced so they can make notes for practice. If the student would like, they may also bring a recording device to record the lesson. I also give students unlimited calling or email access should they have a question or concern about their voice practice, audition, or whatever pertaining to voice.
I teach from my home studio in Belleville, NJ on weekdays and will travel to students taking weekend lessons (the studio is in use on Sat. and Sun.).
There's no greater gift than having a passion, a talent, a song, let me help you find yours:)
