We offer flexible, bespoke-solutions to meet participant needs and support you in meeting your objectives. Nugent Education also provides a range of 'Arts Awards Qualifications' (accredited) where any creative arts programme can lead to a recognised qualification. Other workshops may be one-off fun workshops or entertainment activities, or we may send artists to children's parties, or help run a holiday programme of activities. Our activities can range from one-hour taster sessions to twelve week (and longer) programmes.

At Nugent Education, we liaise with all of our clients, to establish, and then support their aims and objectives; we then plan all sessions accordingly, with intelligent solutions. In schools and with at risk youth inclusion workshops, for example, the company have successfully worked to support school curriculum areas: in Music and Drama, Crafts, Art and other subjects. We may be required to embody Key Skills, Literacy, Citizenship and behaviour modification; also health, healthy eating, bullying, drugs and / or other issues and initiatives. Many critical issues surrounding [UK] Citizenship and current educational drives can be successfully embodied within a creative arts programme. More recently, the focus is often on teenage gun and knife crime, a serious problem, and not just in our inner cities!

Children’s PPARTY. Things like kid’s crafts and Disco's, face-painting, samba drumming and other activities for both younger and older children, can be booked for private parties and events and festivals.

Rapping or MC-ing
Lively, musical and energetic Rapping or MC workshops are a way of making Literacy and Poetry interesting to young people.In fact, writing and reciting Rap can make learning any subject fun. A basic session will involve the use of rhythm and rhyme, alliteration, metaphor and other techniques. Confidence is subtly developed, throughout, and we have been known to get even the shyest people performing in front of the class, or even the whole school. We have also taught Science and Geography through Rapping, with truly amazing results. Our ‘Rap for Revision’ workshops have been proven to improve exam results.

DJ-Workshops
Beat Matching, Pitch Mixing, Scratching, Beat Juggling, Turntablism and Turntable Tricks, CD Mixing, performance aspects, and other skills. These Urban arts workshops are extremely popular, with participants coming back week after week to take part. They may work with whatever style of music they’re into: House, Hip-Hop, RnB, Pop and so on. This area has been integrated into curriculum areas (Music / Music Tech). Graffiti Art
If you want young people to get involved in art workshops, even those who would normally snub art. Or if you need to develop a piece of art that represents your centre or school, or to brighten up a part of your building, Graffiti art workshops are perfect for you. You will get a professional, trained and experienced artist, who can tutor your class, step by step, starting with lettering, and moving on to characters and more abstract forms. We can use Graffiti Art to embody a message or ethos that you want to get across; citizenship, anti-drugs, or social inclusion for example. Workshops can be done indoors without the use of spray paints.

Break-Dancing & Street-Dance
fun, invigorating and exciting; enjoyed by boys and girls equally. Dance workshops are great for team building and performances. Those taking part may learn aspects of a routine step by step, which may eventually become one performance piece involving everybody. Confidence and self-esteem are enhanced, and this has been noted in our feedback forms on many occasions. Workshops teach Popping, Locking, Breaking, Up Rock, Floor Work and much more.

Music Production
includes learning how to use music production programs such as Acid, Pro-Tools and Reason to make your own songs. Also, we teach people how to record, arrange and mix instrumental and vocal tracks. This is often incorporated in DJ and Rap / MC programs to make recordings of the participants work. This training has been used in academic institutions to encourage young people, otherwise disengaged, to take an interest in learning, and actually look forward to attending.

All of our artists are freelance professionals, so in the final analysis, how a session is delivered is their responsibility. Music Production – this is a very popular course. Students will learn all about Programming, Sampling, Mixing and Arranging Music. Our programmes are all taught by experts in the use of ‘Pro-Tools’, ‘Cubase’, ‘Acid’ and other Music-Production computer programs. Pottery Painting – Students (up to 20) create their own painted pottery pieces. This is a very popular creative activity for both the young and older people. Finished work is taken home, burned and glazed, then returned the following week. Not only do they have a painting session, but get to have a memento, personally worked on, to keep always!

Our Charges

Nugent Education workshops cover a wide-variety of specifications, length of programmes, number of Artists required and aims and objectives, the prices may vary accordingly. We are, however, not inflexible! Workshops may run from a one off workshop, to a full six or twelve week programme (for example).

Workshop sessions cost as follows:

Full Day Workshop (£275.00 + VAT per artist / practitioner) - this would normally consist of two hours/on floor time in the morning and two hours in the afternoon.

Half Day Workshop (£175.00 + VAT per artist / practitioner) - this would normally consist of two hours/on floor time in the morning or the afternoon.

The minimum length of a workshop or creative arts training session is two hours, but we do offer one -hour taster sessions (£100.00 + VAT) in selected fields.

There is a small 4% administration fee with all our commissions.
Please note: We do provide workshops in the evenings, weekends and bank-holidays. Also, Nugent Education will not charge for waiting time between sessions. Some Artists require travelling expenses, which are subject to a scale of charges, made clear at the time of booking. For individual and group sessions, our charges may also vary slightly. We offer a full money back guarantee for any pre-paid work that doesn’t commence. The company does its best to ensure that all our activities are monitored and evaluated. Reflective practice leads to continual improvement.
