Introduction

Nugent Education Ltd {Est. 2004} is a registered and established provider of children's educational, school and youth activities. Many schools and youth organisations need to organise or book arts workshops, courses or activities for children and young people. They have a proven track record and offer workshops for primary and secondary schools (and Colleges) and youth organisations in England and Wales.

And to make things easier, their artists will travel to and deliver the workshops at your venue! CRB checked (fully insured) workshop artists now provide a wide range of workshops, (cultural, creative, performing, urban and visual) arts courses and fun activities. These include:

Workshops are bespoke and suitable for all ages (aged from 6yrs-21 years and adults) and abilities including children and young people with disabilities. They deliver to groups of 20+ per artist and even classroom sized groups where required (with support).

Whatever the activity, workshop or event needs may be, and wherever the location is, they will do their upmost to organise and provide youth organisations and schools with what they need!

Schools

They have successfully delivered workshops for hundreds of schools. For both primary and secondary schools they offer curriculum enhancing educational arts workshops and after school activities (extracurricular). The company has created some fantastic workshop ideas for school arts weeks (also half terms, school holidays. weekends, bank holidays and so on).

Children’s and Youth Organisations

They provide artists to deliver workshops for children’s charities and youth organisations and event’s organisers. The client list ranges from probation services and detention centres to young carers and hospitals. They also provide workshops for shopping centres (to promote the centre) to engage parents with children in crafts, drawing more trade to the venue. Corporate events companies

Nugent Education has many well received kids’ party ideas. For small children this has included many crafts like Japanese origami, mask making, Kite making and more. Children often choose which crafts activity they want to try with their friends.

There are some fantastic options for older children and teenagers. For girls this may include street dancing or makeup, hair and beauty (makeovers)! For boys, rapping and Dj-ing (scratch DJ skills taught whilst playing music).

Their most popular teenagers’ activity has been decorating children’s bedrooms, a play area or outside shed (etc). Areas are decorated in graffiti style (or urban street or cartoon or fairytale style) with a theme children choose or even design.

Hiring artists for a child’s party is a great way to engage a group of children for an hour or two. It can help children and teenagers have a great and memorable birthday.

Rapping workshops or MC-ing

Lively, musical and energetic Rapping or MC workshops are a way of making Literacy and Poetry interesting to young people.In fact, writing and reciting Rap can make learning any subject fun. A basic session will involve the use of rhythm and rhyme, alliteration, metaphor and other techniques. Confidence is subtly developed, throughout, and we have been known to get even the shyest people performing in front of the class, or even the whole school. We have also taught Science and Geography through Rapping, with truly amazing results. Our ‘Rap for Revision’ workshops have been proven to improve exam results.
