Friendly one-to-one music lessons from a patient teacher with 24 years experience.

Louisa is happy training you for exams or learning just for fun, teaching you Mozart on the piano, Motown on the flute, or Metallica on the accordion! “Everyone’s different, and that’s what makes being a music tutor so much fun!”

Based in Harrogate, Yorkshire, but now teaching all around the world via FaceTime, Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or any other video call that suits you.

FIRST LESSON
During the £10 taster session Louisa will find out what you’d like to learn and what music you enjoy playing, so she can tailor a course of study especially for you.

ACCORDION
Louisa has performed in gypsy, jazz, chanson, folk, and even punk bands with the accordion. It’s an incredibly fun instrument to learn, and Louisa enjoys seeing the pleasure it brings to all her students, especially to those who have taken it up later in life as their first instrument. With so many different types and sizes of accordion it’s often the hardest instrument to buy, so do get in touch if you are a beginner and need help choosing.

PIANO
Louisa can get you playing along to songs you love within the first few lessons. As well as note reading and playing pieces, lessons can also include learning how to compose, how to improvise, and even how to accompany yourself or someone else singing. You can prepare for exams or just learn for fun.

FLUTE
Having performed in everything from classical orchestras to Latin jazz bands on the flute, Louisa is confident teaching a diverse range of styles and enjoys introducing her students to different types of music from around the world.

THEORY LESSONS
Music theory lessons can be taught using whatever instrument you play, whether it’s a guitar, piano, or even your voice. Louisa specialises in coaching students for theory exams and has a 100% pass rate. Whether you’re learning for grades or just for your own development as a musician, theory lessons will not only help you read, write and analyse music better, they will also improve your sight-reading, composing, and aural skills too.

BAND SKILLS LESSONS
Band skills classes are a lot of fun. They are for people wanting to gain the confidence and skills to join a band: improvisation, keys, harmony, chord progressions, and chart-reading are learnt whilst gaining the experience of playing and rehearsing with another person. All instruments are welcome and you can choose the type of music you want to play.
