Mandy Meaden
yoga teacher
Thank you for your interest in my yoga classes.
I teach friendly and enjoyable mixed ability yoga classes in London. One in Holborn and one in Deptford. Beginners and more experienced yogis are very welcome.
I teach Hatha Yoga, incorporating sequences such as you might find in ashtanga classes and also static postures that come more from an Iyengar background. I am also influenced by Vanda Scaravelli's teaching and the teaching of Mark Whitwell, who was a student of T.Krishnamacharya. I believe in balancing flexibility with strength and try to incorporate something for those of you who like an active class as well as for those seeking relaxation. Classes last 1hr 30 mins and usually follow the format below...
Initial relaxation
Warm ups
Postural work/asanas
Breath work/pranayama
Deep relaxation
I believe that yoga is for everyone and hope I can help you to discover a way of approaching your yoga that brings you health and happiness.
I am a fully qualified British Wheel of Yoga teacher.

FAQ
I'm not very flexible, would your classes be OK for me?
I firmly believe that not being flexible is a great reason to come to yoga, not a reason to avoid it or feel that you are 'bad' at it. Yoga is much more about what you are thinking than how far you are stretching!
If you have any health concerns about a yoga practice please do see your doctor before coming along.
Can I eat before yoga?
If you can it's best to avoid eating for about three hours before a class. If you are hungry beforehand some fruit or nuts as a snack would be OK
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing that you can move in easily, yoga trousers or tracksuit bottoms and a T-shirt are ideal.
Yoga is practiced barefoot.
What do I need to bring with me?
Please bring a yoga mat if you have one and a blanket to keep you warm while you are resting in relaxation.
I do have some spare mats but if you enjoy the classes it is worth investing in one.
THE SMALL PRINT
The classes are currently run as drop-in's so no booking is necessary, but if I don't know you're coming I can't let you know if it's cancelled for any reason, so please do contact me. I'm always very happy to answer questions or give further information - don't be shy :)
