I am a Saxophone, Clarinet and Guitar teacher based in Manchester. I have been teaching privately in a part time basis for the past 7 years and consider myself very competent.

I have just finished a BA Honours degree in Music as Salford University where I took particular interest in performance and recording. I enjoy the challenge of keeping the experience of learning fresh and exciting.

Woodwind and Guitar Teacher

I have just completed a BA Honours degree in Music from Salford University and am now entering full time instrumental teaching. My princible instrument is the Saxophone and I have a particular interest in jazz and improvisation. I am also a competent Clarinet and Guitar teacher and I enjoy the challenge of keeping the experience of learning fresh and exciting for my pupils.

Experience

Work experience with a peripatetic class music teacher in Warrington

I visited several different schools and had the opportunity lead small music groups, introduce children to the alto saxophone through interactive performance and observe various teaching styles.

AIM International, Gap year intern in Cape Town, South Africa

My main job in Cape Town involved working with children from underprivileged backgrounds; teaching guitar and helping them to form bands. I also taught guitar in prisons. These experiences developed my patience and flexibility, which I now consider to be vital in a teaching role.

Private music tuition

I have taught guitar at beginners level, grade five music theory and saxophone to post grade 5 level (ABRSM). Most notably one of my pupils in two years of my teaching her has moved from grade 1 to grade 6 standard. I am very confident in teaching both classical and jazz styles, including the teaching of improvisational techniques.
