Melinda Gourlay
I began reading music when I was just 5 years old, beginning with the Piano. I believe this is a great starting point for any musician, as playing the Piano helps you to understand and read music easily.
I have been playing the cello for 16 years and have a Masters in Music Performance from the Royal Northern College of Music. I have lots of experience playing in orchestras and ensembles all around the country, including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic, Britten Pears Orchestra, and Jersey Symphony Orchestra.
I have experience with special needs students, teaching workshops and groups, and have successfully taught children and adults privately for many years. I am a friendly, outgoing person who loves working with people of all ages and abilities, and I hope to foster an inspiration and love of music in my students.
I live in the West End area and could give lessons from my house, but would also be willing to travel to the student. I also have a Criminal Record check and am certified to work with children.
If you are interested in starting lessons, please contact me. No previous musical experience is neccessary. Consultation lessons are half price.
