Miles Evemy

I have worked in schools in Devon, Surrey, Berkshire and Hampshire for over ten years, teaching piano and electronic keyboard, directing steel-pan groups, keyboard ensembles, jazz bands, orchestras and choirs. I teach pupils from Grades 1-8 and at Diploma standard, and can offer assistance with music theory and GCSE, AS and A2 coursework. I have experience in accompanying instrumentalists for grade examinations.

I believe that children should be given opportunities to develop independence, confidence and above all a joy of learning. I feel it is important to be able to offer learning experiences of the highest quality, taking into account children’s needs and achievements. I offer an environment in which pupils can grow without the fear of making mistakes, where they can feel secure and valued and be encouraged to attempt new challenges . Musical activities offer children the opportunity to learn whilst developing their confidence, skills and ability to work with others
