I'm a writer, editor, teacher and writing coach with over ten years of experience. I have an MFA in writing from Columbia University in New York and I currently teach my own creative writing workshops for fiction and nonfiction writers.

My students and clients have gone on to publish books, stories and articles, be accepted at prestigious MFA programs and residencies, and gain more pleasure from their writing lives.

You can read testimonials and find out more about me at my website, http://www.nancyrawlinson.com, or contact me via email at nancyrawlinson@gmail.com.

Creative Writing Workshop

I launched my own writing workshops in September 2009. After ten years of studying writing and three years of teaching it, I was inspired to take the best elements of all the workshops I have taught or participated in over the years and blend them into one engaging, rigorous combination. I believe that workshops are a great way to get yourself writing again. My students supply the work and I supply the space, structure, deadlines, motivation, and snacks. Every student also gets thoughtful and objective feedback from me and the other workshop participants.

The current classes are full, but I’ll be accepting student for the next round, which will start in late January or early February 2010.

Here are the details:

* These will be craft-focused workshops, open to fiction and nonfiction writers, limited to just six writers per group (so you get more individual attention).
* You’ll get eight sessions, total, and we will meet every other week (so you’ll have structure and feedback over a sixteen week period).
* Each session will last three hours and include some in-class writing and discussion of process (so everyone engages with their work and leaves with a goal).
* Everyone will submit four times, a maximum of 25 pages (so you could workshop 100 pages of fresh work).
* Everyone will get a one hour phone or in-person consultation with me over the course of the workshop.
* The price? Just $595.

If you are interested in joining one of my classes, email me at nancyrawlinson@gmail.com and I’ll be happy to answer any questions and give you information on how to reserve a spot.
