During my seventeen years in a major London public School, I built up a large and key department from scratch. Many people were directly dependent on me for a secure and robust toolset with which to work and for accompanying guidance and training. I have been Teacher, Head of Department, personal IT Support and Director of IT Education - at times, all rolled into one.
My main resonsibilities were...
• Design, preparation and delivery of the IT Skills curriculum for the whole school
• Providing IT Skills training for teaching and administration staff
• Leading the integration of IT Skills into all academic subject areas
• Working with Heads of Department in producing departmental IT Skills usage policies
• Managing and coordinating content of the student Extranet, Staff Intranet and web site
• Training, advising and assisting with the production of professional quality school publications
I designed and built the school’s extranet, intranet and website and I wrote and delivered all the course material for IT Skills teaching across the school.
I am currently working in R&D (Drupal 6) for a web content management provider.
