CTO and co-founder of School of Everything. I am into systems and how all the pieces work together, at both mechanical and human levels.
I have been a software developer for the last two decades, with a good portion of that time spent managing software teams. Software is one of those fields that requires incredibly intense levels of communication, and, to do it right, you have to spend a good portion of your time designing systems for working together.
Away from the machines, I have been an activist and artist, collaborating with all sorts to get things done. I really enjoy designing practical systems that allow creative people to work together in an enjoyable manner.
I am currently studying homoeopathy, astrology and have developed my own tarot mechanism. The symbolic language of esoteric sciences have millennia of exploration behind them and their study has much to offer any other field. I have also recently begun exploring the world of bees - another deeply complex system.
My work is focussed around how to build "social software" - software that runs on/with humans, and how all the elements can remain energetic and healthy.
I am currently studying Shamanic Homeopathy. It's quite an adventure!
Systems theory has been around for a few thousands of years. Studying Chinese medicine and holistic thinking is amazingly relevant to developing complex software and running organisations.
