I teach classical piano at all levels, from beginners to post-diploma. I studied Music at Cambridge University and am now a Fellow at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama. I am very happy to take students through ABRSM (or other board) examinations, in the practical and theory grades. I also enjoy teaching students who want to play for pleasure.
Learning the piano is a great way to stimulate your mind, and it helps with other subjects too - such as maths and langauges. If you are interested in having lessons, please look at the rest of my info then get in touch via the link above. I am a friendly and patient teacher - I look forward to hearing from you!
I have private teaching experience with all abilities and ages. As well as my private teaching, I also teach at City University. For three years I was Musical Director of 'The Academy', a musical-theatre project for youth that ran in South Cambridgeshire during school holidays.
As a performer I am represented by the highly prestigious Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT), and regularly perform as soloist in the UK's major concert venues (including Royal Festival Hall, Purcell Room, Wigmore Hall, Cadogan Hall, Symphony Hall, Bridgewater Hall). I have also recorded two CDs, which both met with critical acclaim and are available through iTunes or Amazon. Please visit my website for more details.
I charge £35 per hour plus £5 if I have to travel (Zones 1-3). I am willing to negotiate discounts for more than one lesson in the same house.
My schedule is currently very full with teaching and concerts, but occasionally I can accommodate a new pupil who is either advanced or a very enthusiastic beginner.
