Hi. I'm a professional performer doing all kinds, from soul, ska, big band right through to rock stuff and film soundtracks. I'm a strong believer that music comes from the soul more than it comes from the brain. That said, I do a load of arranging and orchestrating of things too.
Have played for 30 years, and have taught for 10 years (piano and sax), as well as music production/engineering, live sound, performance techniques and everything muso.
Irreverent, fun and inventive teaching technique... what use is an instrument if you need music in front of you whenever you want to play it?
Concentration on improvisation first and foremost, but with an increasing understanding of the theoretical stuff as your abilities require it. The theory is easy if it is relevant to what you're doing! I've also got a pretty decent idea of the kit that's around, so if you're after buying something off flea-bay then give me a shout first!
