I have taught Art in Secondary School and adult education for 18 years. I have a BA in Fine Art and a PGCE in Textiles.
I produce my own artwork using batik and mixed media.
I owned and ran an Art Gallery for two years, but since it closed I have been teaching from home.I teach experimental textile art, drawing for beginners and painting and drawing for beginners.
My classes are on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Batik for beginners
Beginning with the basic concept of hot wax resist and dye to create patterns on to fabric you will create a varied set of experimental fabric samples throughout the morning, possibly progressing to an actual batik picture in the afternoon if time allows. All materials provided. Please bring a packed lunch

This is a beginners workshop, so no previous experience is necessary.
All materials provided. Please bring a packed lunch and wear suitable clothes
Textile art for beginners
Students will be led through a course of lessons building up different textiles skills and techniques each week, including batik, silk painting, felt making and print making to name but a few.
No experience is necessary as full tuition will be given.
Refreshments are provided throughout the afternoon.
All materials are provided.
This is a very friendly class which will help you to build up a large collection of samples and finished work.
Felt bag-making workshop
With full tuition, you will use the wet felting method to create a piece of felt which you will then sew up to form a bag. You will have the opportunity to create a handle and embellishments. There will be a choice of coloured wool tops to choose from.
Refreshments will be provided but lunch is not provided, so please bring a packed lunch if required.

Learn to paint and draw
You will learn how to use water colour, acrylic and oil paint, charcoal, pastels, oil pastels and pencil.
In a friendly atmosphere we will work through themes such as reflections, Impressionism, tone and perspective, to name but a few!
One to one tuition means that you will be able to work at your own level, from absolute beginner to more experienced.
Materials provided, but you will need to buy a good quality A3 drawing pad and a water colour pad.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the afternoon.

Life Drawing for A' level students
Full tuition is given in these 2 hour sessions of Life drawing. A wide range of materials and approaches are used to study the figure and students will find that they quickly gain confidence and produce a substantial body of work for their A level or BTEC folders.
I can travel to your school most afternoons if student transport is an issue.
The gallery is situated on South Parade in Doncaster town centre, close to all bus and train routes.
Different approaches to life drawing
Students will be led through a range of drawing exercises designed to broaden their use of media and techniques. Poses will range from 2 minutes to 45 minutes. Different surfaces and drawing media will be used throughout the day. Full tuition will be given if needed.
Students will be supplied with the various surfaces and media, but please bring some A2 paper or pad and pencils to start with.
Dinner can be bought next door in the Salutation pub, or a few doors along at 'The Point'cafe.
The class will be held in the life drawing room of this beautiful Georgian Art Gallery.

Drawing with pencil pastels and charcoal
This is a drawing course which is split into blocks. The first 4 weeks will concentrate on pencils pastel and charcoal. This will cost £34. During the next three weeks we will tackle perspective and aim to create depth in our work. Cost £26 The 3rd block in this course will be 4 weeks again and will concentrate on portraits. This block will cost £45 to allow for the model to be payed in the final week.
Full tuition given throughout. Refreshments provided. Please bring an A3 sketch book and a range of pencils (HB -6B) preferably.
Sketch books and pencils can be bought from the gallery.
Different approaches to life drawing
Students will be led through a range of approaches to drawing the figure. Different surfaces and media will be explored with the emphasis on experimentation.
This will be a full day workshop starting at 10am and finishing at 3pm with a 1 hour break for lunch.
Students need to bring lunch or alternatively call at the pub next door.
Refreshments will be provided all day and are included in the price.
