Sarah Owen

I am a qualified school teacher and have taught in schools for many years. I have taught piano privately from home for the last 15 years.
I take beginners, intermediate and advanced students, children and adults.

I am able to offer tuition in piano, keyboard and music theory.
I absolutely love what I do and my aim is to impart that love to my pupils.

I've had pupils go on to study music at universities, I've helped students gain success in theory entrance exams for degree courses and for some of the top London music schools. I've had many, many pupils successfully pass exams, many with distinctions, at all levels from beginner to advanced. I've had pupils come to me just for specific help with A level recital work or GCSE tuition, pupils who learn another instrument and need specialised theory help, and most of all piano and keyboard pupils who have stayed with me for many years. I hope that I have imparted a love of music and a real enjoyment of playing to all those I have taught.

I have many pupils who take exams, and plenty of others who prefer not to. I believe strongly that lessons should be tailored to the individual, and not everybody wants the same thing. I have pupils of 6 and pupils of over 80 and I like to think I am friendly and approachable, whatever your age and ambitions.

I teach at home just north of Chichester during daytimes, after school, and during the evenings on Mondays - Wednesdays. On Thursdays and Saturdays I teach in Waterlooville and on Friday afternoons and evenings I teach in Portsmouth, at student's houses.

I also tutor maths, from all levels from Year 1 to GCSE. One of my 14 year old pupils took GCSE this summer and gained 100%! At the other end of the spectrum, I have helped children as young as reception and Year 1 who need their confidence built in maths.

I am also a licenced children's chaperone and have a current enhanced CRB. You are welcome to see either of these documents.
